Can you drill a hole in iron or steel?

Pepo asked:

can i drill a hole in iron or steel with a normal metal drill bit?
i have 68 different drill bit but they’re al pure metal and i have nothing to heat the metal with other than a brick BBQ grill but no cover, the heat escapes so its not a black smith oven.

How to hold a 6×6 (or 4×4) cedar (or pressure treated) post on an already existing cement patio?

gerryfiore asked:

Hi – I want to roof in a 10×7 area – that will cover my BBQ – and a chair or two – the area is relatively small 10×7. I want to use either cedar or metal jack-poles (?) to support the roof structure. The patio is already there – cement. If I use the metal jack-poles I can ***** them into the cement – correct? But what do I use to hold the cedar 6×6 (or 4×4) in place? I will use a post in each corner of the structure (4 posts). The roof will have a pitch to allow for the rain to drain off. I may go with all cedar or metal posts with the rest cedar.

I found a mouse in my BBQ Grill. How can I keep them out?

Mike asked:

I keep my grill outside, and I keep it covered with one of those vinyl grill covers.

Today I took the cover off, and I noticed what looked to be mouse turds all over the little side tables. Upon further inspection, I found the mouse underneith the side-burner cover. I turned the burner on, and the little guy with singged whiskers came out and ran across the hot grill, eventually finding his way off and ran away.

I obviously cleaned the heck out of the grill.

My question is, how can I prevent mice from making my BBQ grill a home? I dont think I want to have poison around food… but I dont want mouse turds or *** around my food either. I cant really use traps, because the bait would attact ants and other insects, since this is outside.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
