how do i stop my jack russell puppie from destroying the back yard?
he is 13 weeks old and sleeps in the laundry at night with the door shut, where he does his business on a puppy pad. if u dont let him outside before 10am he gets bored and drags his bed thru the pad and also rips the pad to bits and the other day he chewed the washing machine.
he stays out the backyard the rest of the day with his bed and about 8 diffrent toys that make noises and stuff. he has done his business right outside the back door since day 1 but only usually wees there now but still the occasional poo, and its concrete when there is plenty of grass and dirt around.
i caught him chewing the wood around the door, he ripped my bbq cover to shreds, the kids trampoline cover, a fabric chair, and the latest, he jumped into a couple of planter boxes of lavender and dug em up and trampled and bit them into pieces. we would love to leave him inside all the time but it doesnt look possible, soon as he comes in he seems to *** on the first soft clothe he finds whether its a mat or a scarf or sheets or a top. and just this week he seems to just drop little bits of wee as he walks around when i go out the backyard. also i havnt started walking him yet, he is due for his 3rd vacc in 3 weeks. and he eats a large meal morning and night and is fat and healthy. PLEEEASE HEELLLPPP!!!!!!!
i train him most nights cos thats the only time i can. he knows sit and stay and doesnt come till i say o.k the same with his food bowl he sits and looks at me till i say o.k to eat. he actually will sit and stay, and wont come or get up on me only if i say the word o.k. will he move.
REALLY NEED HELP! How durable are dog runs? Would you recommend them? Suggestions please?
I have a really destructive 10 month old dog. I love her to death, but I honestly feel as if I am a slave to my pet. I spend nearly the whole day looking after her, playing with her, cleaning up after her, and taking her for walks. But every time I leave her alone she causes trouble & my dad ends up calling me & yelling like no tomorrow. Thing is, he is just fed up with her destructive behavior & wants her gone unless I can make a change quickly. My boyfriend is also tired of the fact that our relationship now revolves around my dog, which I completely understand. Outside she will rip out and chew hoses, even pool hoses (that are in the pool!) , bbQ covers, chair covers, just about anything outside. I try removing everything, but it is my dad`s yard, not mine & he is not willing to compromise.
So, when I am away would hooking her up to a dog run be good? She is just soooooo strong I am worried that she will just pull it apart & run off (even jumping over our walls). She really is powerful, hyperactive, curious, etc. We tried training with several trainers for months (each day) & it just hasn`t given us satisfying results. She just can`t control her destructive behavior despite constant reinforcement. & I can`t just put her in a kennel when I am gone because she can actually bend the steel with her paws and teeth. She has PLENTY of toys and gets bones everytime I leave her alone.
Should I get the dog run? Will it “contain” her? Do you have any other suggestions? I am desperate. I don`t even think a dog shocker will work on her (not that I want to use 1). I just want to have my life back to some degree….everyone at my home does. Please help!
OH! & what about that weight thingy that you attach to a chain and then insert it deep w/in the ground? Is that a better alternative. I’m just worried that she just my un-dig the weight somehow. Is this possible. Do you know of a dog who “escaped” from one?
I’m purposely excluding her breed in the sake of not getting agressive comments. But she’s a mix. She is not an aggressive dog at all. She just thinks that everything is a toy & of course, hates being lonely.
I didn’t do much research on the dog run….i don’t even know if there are different types (thought they are all essentially the samething). This is what I found though. >

Oh, & just to let you know, she wouldn’t be near a fence or wall so that she can accidently hang herself. We used to have a chain tied to a tree, which wored. But then my dad bit**ed about how she ruined the tree. 8/
My dog is seriously like an escape artists. I need something strong.
**can’t* accidently hang herself. ****
REALLY NEED HELP! 2nd TIME POSTING! How durable are dog runs? Suggestions?
I need more opinions, which is why I’m posting this again.

Please note that I wouldn’t set up anything near a wall in order to not give her the chance to accidentally hang herself.
