BBQ Grill Safety Question?

ragefury asked:

I have a propane grill at home, had it for a year, but I never used a grill cover, so of course it was rained on, and basically exposed to all the elements… I was wondering if there are any concerns I should have before I use it again, or should I just clean it and start using it?… I’m just afraid of blowing up…. any advice would be appreciated…

BBQ Grill Question?

Jim C asked:

My grill is covered in grease. Not alot, but enough to make it smoke all the time and have to keep the burners down. Can I cook the grease off by putting the burners on low and just let it go for a while? Is that a safe thing to do or should I just dig in deep and use a cleaner? I really don’t need a grease fire to burn down my deck & house.

Rust Proof Spray Paint for Cooking Surfaces?

prana_six asked:

So I buy this $800 Charmglow BBQ from The Home Depot with top of the line grill grates made of cast iron and porcelain coated because I’m tired of the $100 versions rusting and requiring replacement every 1 or 2 years. I’ve had it for about 8 months and sure enough, the grates start rusting. I have a BBQ cover, but there have been times where I have used the grill and forgot to cover it after it cooled and it rained that night. Replacement grates are upwards of $40 a piece and I have been doing some research trying to find a spray on product to prevent rusting, handle the high heat, and safe to cook on. I found Rutland Stove Paint which can handle heat of up to 1200 degrees and is meant for BBQs and Stove tops, but doesn’t actually mention that it is safe to cook on. Does anyone know if this or any other product will be a cheap alternate to replacing the grates every few months?
